No. Coinbase.com is a custodial exchange account. Coinbase Wallet is a separate, self-custody product where you control your private keys and recovery phrase.
What happens if I lose my recovery phrase? +
Your recovery phrase is the only way to restore your wallet if you lose access to your device. Coinbase cannot retrieve it for you. Store it securely offline.
Can I import a wallet from another provider? +
Coinbase Wallet supports importing compatible existing self-custody wallets. Only enter your recovery phrase in the official wallet setup flow, and never share it with anyone.
Is using a wallet risk-free? +
No. Crypto assets and blockchain transactions carry risk. Transactions can be irreversible, and interacting with malicious or faulty smart contracts can result in loss of funds.
